- New York and DC Partner Sam Rosenthal was recognized as a 2012 All-Star by BTI Consulting, a leading strategic market research provider for law and management firms. BTI names a selection of attorneys to its annual Client Service All-Star list based solely on unprompted feedback from more than 240 general counsel at large and Fortune 1000 organizations. The designation is granted to those attorneys who possess a keen understanding of business issues, implement thought-leading approaches to legal services and show a strong commitment to fulfilling client needs. January 2012.
- Patton Boggs Chairman Thomas Hale Boggs, Jr. was recognized as one of Washington's 50 most powerful people by GQ magazine. January 2012.
- Patton Boggs’ Partner Bob Tompkins and Associate Elizabeth Gill advised on a deal recognized by M&A Advisor magazine as one of the “Deals of the Decade” at the 2011 M&A Advisor Summit. December 2011.
- Patton Boggs was ranked twice in the National Law Journal's annual Legal Times 150 listing of the largest Washington Law Firms. The firm ranked 8th in the "All-firms" listing, being one of the few firms that grew (headcount) in 2011. In the "Homegrown Firms" list of the top 25 firms that got their start in Washington, Patton Boggs placed 7th. December 2011.
- The Washington Post recognized Patton Boggs in the Post 200, a 2011 guide to the region's top businesses. The firm was listed in the "Law and Lobby" category along with 18 other local employers. December 2011.
- Washington Partners Benjamin Ginsberg, William McGinley, Robert Luskin and Douglas Mishkin were featured in Washingtonian magazine's 2011 "Best Lawyers" list. The magazine recognized Mr. Ginsberg and Mr. McGinley for their "Campaign Season" work, while Mr. Luskin was included in the "White-Collar Worries" category. Mr. Mishkin was included in the "Defending the Company" section of the listings. December 2011.
- Senators John Breaux and Trent Lott were each named a "Top Lobbyist" in the National Journal for their efforts on behalf of The Breaux-Lott leadership Group and Patton Boggs in 2011. The publication published the results compiled by First Street, a research group, which conducted the analysis based on the number and diversity of the clients retained by those listed as well as the corresponding revenue collected. December 2011.
- The DC office's Nicholas Allard, Thomas Hale Boggs, Jr., John Breaux, Micah Green, Trent Lott, Edward Newberry and Jonathan Yarowsky were singled out as "Top Lobbyists" by The Hill. The newspaper credited the firm's 2011 recognition to its seasoned powerbrokers as well as the Breaux-Lott Leadership Group's profitable practice. October 5, 2011

A selection of Patton Boggs' Washington partners were recognized by ALM in its 2012 "Baltimore and Washington DC's Best Lawyers" publication. Firm Chairman Thomas Hale Boggs, Jr. was among those listed in the Government Relations category. Robert Luskin was named in the Criminal Defense: White-Collar category. Jeffrey Smith was included in both the Gaming Law and Native American Law categories. The International Trade and Finance Law category as well as the Leveraged Equity and Private Equity Law category both included Jay Tannon. Theodore Sonde received recognition in three categories: Commercial Litigation, Bet-the-Company Litigation and Securities/Capital Markets Law. October 2011.
The nonprofit organization Partners for Women and Justice recognized Newark associate Alyson Villano for her time, enthusiasm and inspiring efforts to help women and children in need. September 2011.
DC public policy advisor Eugenia Edwards was recognized in May by Washingtonian magazine as one of the publication’s 2011 “40 Under 40,” a recognition reserved for young lobbyists with the most influence in the nation’s capital.
DC partner Thomas Hale Boggs, Jr., was selected as one of the "Most Influential Lawyers" in 2011 by the National Law Journal for his work in government affairs over the past five years. Each year in March the publication selects 34 attorneys "who are shaping the law, the economy and the physical fabric of the United States and the world."
DC partner Nick Allard was named a “Visionary” by the National Law Journal in its 2010 annual list of “Champions and Visionaries” for his work promoting lobbying as an honorable profession. Mr. Allard was also named a 2010 “Top Lobbyist” by The Hill.
The Guide to the World’s Leading Commercial Arbitration Experts listed Washington, DC partner Ken Reisenfeld as a "pre-eminent commercial arbitration expert in the world," April 2011.
Patton Boggs has also been profiled on the CBS news program "60 Minutes" and in many major publications, including Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fortune and Vanity Fair.

Patton Boggs was cited in a Justice Department report to Congress as the law firm lobbying for the most foreign countries or entities. The report was reported on in publications such as The National Law Journal and The Washington Post, September 2011.
International Legal Alliance Summit named the firm a "Golden Award Winner" for Best Law Firm: Public Procurement, Public Law and Government Relations, 2009-2010.
American Lawyer Media (ALM), named a 2012 Go-To Law Firm® at the Top 500 companies in the Corporate Transactions category. SNL Financial’s Deal Book ranks Patton Boggs as a top 50 legal adviser in bank and thrift M&A for whole-institution acquisitions based on total deal value (#16) and number of deals (#43, tied); branch acquisitions based on total deposits sold (#27) and number of deals (#21, tied); and for property and casualty deals in insurance (#10, tied), April 2010.

BUYOUTS magazine named the firm’s work with its client Blue Wolf Capital “Deal of the Year Award - Small Deal of the Year (Up to $200 Million).” The Patton Boggs team was led by Dallas-based deputy managing partner Charlie Miller.
American Banker Magazine ranks Patton Boggs number seven as a Top Lead Legal Adviser in their August M&A Mid-year edition. The ranking selects the top primary advisers in domestic bank and thrift merger deals announced in the first half of 2006.
Patton Boggs was listed in Virginia Business Magazine’s top 50 list of leading Virginia firms (based on number of lawyers), March 2010.
Patton Boggs’ Dallas office was included in a list of 45 Dallas-area companies recognized by WorkplaceDynamics as top workplaces based on “superior” employee survey scores. The Dallas office achieved WorkplaceDynamics’ national standard when compared with more than 4,000 organizations across the nation, November 14, 2011.
Patton Boggs' Newark office was named one of the best places to work in New Jersey by NJBiz in April 2011. The office ranked number three out of 41 "large" companies (the first time the office qualified for the category). Patton Boggs was the only law firm listed in the top 10.

Custom Publishing Awards
In 2010, Patton Boggs was awarded two Pearl Awards by the Custom Publishing Council for Capital Thinking. This marks the fourth year in a row that the firm has received Pearl Awards for its work.

In all, 158 Pearl Awards were presented to 41 companies this year representing a wide range of industries including retailers, hotel chains, car manufacturers and service providers.
Burton Awards
In 2010, Patton Boggs has been awarded the 2010 "Best Law Firm Publication" for Capital Thinking Magazine by The Burton Awards for Lifetime Achievement. In 2009, Patton Boggs joins 19 other law firms on a recently released "Decade Awards" list released by The Burton Awards. The list names the nations top law firms of the decade in legal writing and is based on firms with the greatest number of legal writing awards over the last 10 years. In 2007, Patton Boggs received three Burton Awards from the Burton Foundation and the Association of Legal Administrators: Capital Thinking won in the category “Best Law Firm Publication.” Partners Robert Luskin and Andrew Friedman earned a legal writing award for their article, “When Congress Calls,” which was published by Inside Litigation magazine in the Spring/Summer 2006 issue. The firm was presented with a “Record of Distinction” Award, having won a Burton Award for three consecutive years. The honor was particularly noteworthy because only eight law firms received this award in 2007.
