Amy Davine Kim advises clients in the areas of international private equity transactions and the U.S. regulation of international business.

With respect to private equity transactions, Ms. Kim advises on the legal aspects of structuring and participating in investment funds that make corporate securities and real estate investments worldwide. She routinely counsels clients and foreign institutional investors in technical matters related to the partnership, corporate and limited liability company agreements that establish investment funds.

Ms. Kim also advises clients on a variety of complex issues concerning the U.S. regulation of international business. In particular, she provides legal advice and assistance in matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), export controls and anti-boycott laws and regulations. She develops international compliance and training programs involving these laws, and advises on specific matters governed by such laws.
Ms. Kim also assists international clients and foreign governments in navigating complex contractual and diplomatic matters, including issues involving multilateral and bilateral agreements.

Ms. Kim has a strong commitment to pro bono legal work and has assisted in matters to advance bipartisan legislation involving missing and exploited children. In addition, she has worked closely with children’s and maternal health organizations to advance their programs, as well as advised organizations in ways to lawfully export humanitarian assistance to countries subject to U.S. embargo.
