Adriana D. Kohler counsels international and domestic clients on a range of legislative, administrative and policy matters. Ms. Kohler informs her clients of recent changes in legislation and regulations and works to advocate her clients’ interests to lawmakers.
During law school, Ms. Kohler served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael M. Baylson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In addition, as legal intern at the Women’s Law Project, Ms. Kohler gained valuable expertise in litigation and regulatory matters. She helped research and develop an amicus brief filed in the Third Circuit and analyzed regulations of Title IX (gender equity in athletics) to draft a manual that assists state officials and school administrators navigate the law’s requirements.
During law school, Ms. Kohler was the executive editor of University of Pennsylvania Journal of Law & Social Change. She was elected president of the Latin American Law Students Association at the University of Pennsylvania (2009-2010), where she coordinated pro bono programs and organized an annual conference to examine legal and policy issues affecting the Latino community.
Ms. Kohler’s experience in Washington D.C. includes an internship with U.S. Representative José Serrano (D-NY), where she conducted policy research and analysis and drafted legislation on clean energy initiatives. She also served as policy intern for education reform at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), a national civil rights and advocacy organization. At NCLR, she assisted in legislative strategy and lobbying initiatives to promote the DREAM Act.
