Anthony Molloy’s practice focuses on mass/toxic tort, product liability, environmental and general commercial litigation. Prior to joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Molloy worked as a chemical engineer for six years for a major wire and cable manufacturer, concentrating in thermoplastic and polymer chemistry. Mr. Molloy provides litigation advice to municipalities, Pharmaceutical Benefit Managers (PBMs), agricultural biotechnology corporations, military contractors, disaster responders and construction companies in state, federal and international courts. Mr. Molloy also advises clients on OSHA, FDA and NiOSH compliance.

Mr. Molloy’s pro bono representations have concentrated in the areas of special education/special needs rights advocacy and associated administrative matters with the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, Veterans’ benefits’ recovery before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and Election Law. Mr. Molloy has also worked on various matters in association with the New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for Justice.

Prior to joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Molloy was an associate at one of Am Law’s five largest U.S. law firms. 

Representative Matters
  • Defended a large metropolitan municipality and more than 150 contractors and subcontractors regarding personal injury allegations during the rescue and recovery efforts, as well as the debris removal and cleanup operations following a terrorist attack.
  • Defended a private military contractor against claims of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity brought via the Alien Tort Statute.
  • Represented a pharmaceutical benefits manager (PBM) in a variety of commercial disputes and FDA regulatory issues.
  • Franzo v. Shinseki, 10-2763 (Vet.App. Mar. 5, 2012).  Lead counsel in appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.  Successfully overturned a denial of service related benefits for a Korean War veteran.
  • Defended a fireboat corporation in connection with negligence and OPA claims related to its response to a major off-shore oil rig fire.
  • Represented a biotechnology company in a product liability suit related to the manufacture of military herbicides used during the Vietnam War.
  • Represented a chemical manufacturer in a product liability suit alleging personal injury from PCB exposure.
  • Defended a retired owner of a laundromat against claims of Perchloroethylene (PCE) groundwater contamination.   
  • Successfully negotiated a significant tax reduction in a contaminated property tax appeal.
  • Successfully negotiated a voluntary dismissal of a domicile suit brought by a school board against a single mother of two.
