Adlai Small’s practice focuses mainly on securities, mass torts, and commercial litigation.  Mr. Small has defended several securities matters and other class actions for numerous high-profile clients, including a major U.S. investment bank, a leading financial institution, a premier global private equity firm, the largest research-based pharmaceutical company, a prominent global energy group, and the world’s principal casino operator.  His diverse experience spans the entire litigation process, from the investigatory and pleading stages through discovery and trial.

Immediately before joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Small pursued a successful litigation practice involving similar matters at one of Am Law’s five largest law firms.   He had also served as an associate at the New York headquarters of a diversified international law firm, where he defended a major investment bank in a multi-billion dollar securities fraud class action.

Previously, Mr. Small worked as a political campaign consultant in New Jersey, developing and implementing research strategy for the successful reelection of U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg in 1994 and consulting on two campaigns for the New Jersey State Assembly.
