Walter Featherly is the managing partner of Patton Boggs’ Anchorage office. Focusing on Alaska Native- and Native American-owned businesses, Mr. Featherly regularly advises boards of directors and executives on matters of corporate law and governance, the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act, securities law, intellectual property protection, government contracting, employment practices, finance and real estate. Mr. Featherly also helps minority-owned businesses navigate the regulations governing admission to the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development and HUBZone programs, particularly those related to subcontracting and teaming opportunities.

Mr. Featherly regulary speaks on subjects of corporate governance and compliance, teaming and joint venturing, and the requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, the Small Business Administration and other laws applicable to small, minority and disadvantaged contractors and those large companies that team with them.

Mr. Featherly has tried numerous cases in Alaska and federal courts in the areas of commercial transactions, real estate, construction, antitrust, bankruptcy, products liability, personal injury and eminent domain, and has argued appeals to the Alaska Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
