Teresa Ridle provides strategic and preventative counseling to Alaska Native Corporations, American Indian Tribes, non-profit corporations and various for-profit business entities in areas of corporate law and governance, business formations, business acquisitions, government contracting, intellectual property, shareholder relations, employment and secured transactions. Her work in these areas includes both representation in complex litigation proceedings and transactional advice, assistance and drafting.

Ms. Ridle’s practice also includes assisting Alaska Native Corporations and their subsidiaries in navigating the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) policies and regulations with respect to initial applications, change of ownership requests and general compliance with the requirements of the SBA 8(a) program. She also assists these companies in complying with the intricacies of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) and the Alaska Corporation’s Code.

Ms. Ridle is a frequent speaker and presenter on the requirements of ANCSA and corporate law.

Representative Matters:

• Brooks Range Exploration Co., Inc. v. Gordon, 46 P.3d 942 (Alaska 2002): After appeal related to proceedings to enforce settlement agreement requiring the transportation of mining equipment from remote location, successfully negotiated settlement resulting in client obtaining all monetary damages and compensation sought as well as recovery of full attorney’s fees and costs.
• Alderman v. Iditarod Properties, Inc., 104 P.3d 136 (Alaska 2004): At trial and appeal, successfully obtained judgment in favor of theatre owner against former business associate for unpaid rent.
