As Co-Chair of the firm’s Public Policy and Administrative and Regulatory Department, Mr. Turner focuses on public policy issues, including climate change and energy legislation; financial services; pension reform; Congressional investigations; telecommunications and copyright policy; sanctions policy; and a host of other public policy issues. Mr. Turner helps clients advance their business objectives by helping block harmful legislation and regulations, by encouraging Congress and regulatory agencies to adopt favorable legislation and regulations, and by helping companies navigate the challenges of Congressional investigations. Mr. Turner has led teams on “bet-the-company” projects, including one underway now in the 111th Congress.

Representative Matters
  • Representing companies under investigation before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
  • Continues to represent the Ad Hoc Deep Water Exploration and Production Coalition in successfully opposing legislation that would negate contracts entered into by coalition members to develop leases in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
  • Represents Sony Electronics on copyright and technology policy issues, both on Capitol Hill and before the Federal Communications Commission. 
  • Represented, pro bono, the American Friends of the Czech Republic in securing adoption of a House Resolution honoring Sir Nicholas Winton for saving 669 children from death camps on the eve of World War II.
