Tanya DeRivi assists municipal governments, non-profit, and university clients on a wide range of policy areas. Her efforts include research, development, and implementation of legislative strategy to advance federal agendas including environment, energy, social services, housing, and homeland security policy. She focuses on securing federal funding for clients through the Congressional authorization and appropriations processes.

Before joining Patton Boggs, Ms. DeRivi represented the City of Los Angeles in Washington, D.C. on federal issues affecting the city’s utility. In this role, she advised the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, and Los Angeles City Council offices on policy issues pending before Congress and executive agencies, including water resources, renewable energy, transmission siting, climate change, mine safety, and chemical security. She also represented the City before various national trade associations to advance the utility’s legislative agenda. Ms. DeRivi has advised two Los Angeles Mayoral Administrations on local, regional, state, and federal utility issues.
