Philip Bangert represents client interests before federal agencies and the U.S. Congress.
A substantial portion of Mr. Bangert's practice involves surface transportation, maritime and aviation, homeland security, international trade, water resources and environmental issues. He regularly represents public agencies, trade associations, and domestic and foreign corporations. Mr. Bangert acts on behalf of local governments to secure federal and local governmental approval for projects, as well as obtain federal appropriations and agency grants for such projects. He also counsels local governments on a broad array of issues related to the development and operations of public transportation facilities and airports, and advising clients on issues related to global trade.
Mr. Bangert counsels corporate clients on a range of regulatory issues, including the impact of domestic and international laws and regulations on business operations, and legal issues that arise in a global marketplace.
Mr. Bangert represents clients before federal bodies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Interior, Department of State, Department of Transportation, and the Federal Maritime Commission. Mr. Bangert has also represented client interests before various state legislatures, and has extensive experience in federal "grassroots" lobbying efforts on behalf of corporate interests and trade associations.
