Barat LaPorte advises companies and individuals on complex civil and white collar criminal litigation, focusing on federal criminal investigations and matters involving environmental crime. She also counsels clients on a broad range of issues, including natural resources, environmental protection, and consumer products. In addition, Ms. LaPorte assists clients in the development and implementation of internal compliance and monitoring plans.
Before joining Patton Boggs, Ms. LaPorte served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Daniel A. Moore (retired) and Justice Dana Fabe, Alaska Supreme Court. Previously, she served as an associate for one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest firms.
Representative Matters:
- In re the Exxon Valdez, has advised and assisted client in litigation and related matters arising from the oil spill.
