Cass Weiland offers a wide range of strategic legal advice and counsel built on his depth of experience as a trial lawyer. Focusing on commercial litigation, employment law, and white-collar criminal defense, he has tried jury cases in federal courts around the country, having appeared in more than 25 different district courts and six courts of appeal. He has also served as lead trial counsel in state court cases throughout Texas. Numerous cases which he has handled have resulted in published opinions.

Commercial Litigation
Mr. Weiland is an accomplished commercial litigator and business lawyer who has served as lead counsel in civil cases involving contracts, securities, energy, construction, and health care, as well as employment law and federal civil rights matters. Mr. Weiland has counseled businesses on corporate and strategic issues and has represented companies of all sizes. He has handled arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, and the National Association of Securities Dealers. He has mediated dozens of cases for his clients and served as a court-appointed mediator.

White-Collar Criminal Defense
Mr. Weiland also counsels businesses and individuals embroiled in government controversies. He has represented clients accused of fraud, environmental crimes, tax offenses, antitrust and securities violations, and a diverse range of other alleged misconduct. This practice often requires him to deal with a range of government agencies, from the Department of Justice and the SEC to the IRS, Defense Department, USDA, Health & Human Services, and others. He has also represented companies conducting internal investigations, as well as corporate victims of fraudulent business schemes.

Further enhancing Mr. Weiland’s ability to deal with complex issues is his government experience, including:
