Deborah Lodge specializes in intellectual property and Internet law.  She represents a broad range of clients, including electronic publishers, retailers, trade associations, software developers, and other new technology pioneers. 

Trademarks, trade dress and copyrights form the core of Ms. Lodge’s IP practice.  She helps clients to select unique and distinctive marks and to maximize their brand significance through licensing and other strategies.  On the copyright front, Ms. Lodge has negotiated assignments, publishing and media agreements, web site development and hosting agreements.  She also advises clients on fair use, work for hire, and other copyright issues.  She has considerable experience in enforcing or defending clients’ rights through trademark or copyright infringement litigation in federal courts.

Ms. Lodge also assists clients with Internet and emerging technology issues.  Among her areas of expertise are e-commerce agreements and regulations, cybersquatting, domain names, spam and other e-business issues.  She advises clients on Gramm Leach Bliley and other privacy issues, and represents clients under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or other consumer protection agencies.  She also counsels clients on such diverse issues as advertising, publicity, sweepstakes and promotions, franchising, consumer credit, and other trade regulation matters.

During law school, Ms. Lodge was a member and articles editor of the Boston College Law Review. She was honored as a Wellesley Scholar as an undergraduate.
