Darren R. Luft advocates for clients involved in civil disputes and bankruptcy litigation.
While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Luft served as associate director of the Suspension Representation Project of New York University School of Law. In this capacity, Mr. Luft coordinated and managed the representation of suspended New York City public school students in hearings before administrative law judges. Additionally, Mr. Luft successfully represented in front of administrative law judges, both a student challenging his special education services in an impartial hearing and an unemployment benefits claimant whose unemployment benefits had been denied by the Department of Labor.
As a student in the Equal Justice Capital Defender clinic at the New York University School of Law, Mr. Luft assisted in the preparation of an appellate brief in a direct, postconviction appeal of a capital conviction and sentence and aided in the creation of a Rule 32 to petition to be filed challenging a capital conviction and sentence in the Alabama state court.
