David Mayer has more than 30 years experience representing clients involved in transactions as buyers, sellers, lessees, lessors, lenders, and borrowers of personal property and facilities. The property includes business aircraft, gas storage facilities, transportation assets, energy facilities (including wind farms), and healthcare, infrastructure (including toll roads), and technology assets. He also provides a broad array of skills in cross-border transactions.
When transactions encounter defaults or other disputes, especially in the current economic crisis, Mr. Mayer’s extensive restructuring and workout experience, coupled with his business acumen, help his clients achieve common sense solutions to seemingly intractable problems.
Mayer speaks regularly at conferences on a wide array of topics and has become a prolific writer since 2001 when his book, Business Leasing For Dummies, was published. It is still available online.
In January 2002 he founded Business Leasing and Finance News (formerly Business Leasing News), an online newsletter that provides business leasing, lending, and related transactional analysis in a clear, concise, and useful manner for readers in about 45 countries. He aims to help readers, clients, and friends of the firm make money and stay out of harm’s way in business. Mayer also provides information and analysis designed to help readers understand and cope with the problems of distressed organizations, a skill that is particularly relevant given the current economic climate.
