Doug Mishkin is co-chair of Patton Boggs’s Employment Law Practice Group. He litigates on behalf of companies and nonprofit organizations, with particular emphasis on the law of equal employment opportunity, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, wage and hour, covenants not to compete and trade secrets, and employment contracts.

Mr. Mishkin has tried jury and non-jury cases and argued appeals in state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and other jurisdictions. He has defended class actions as well as individual and multi-plaintiff cases. He regularly appears in proceedings initiated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state and local human rights agencies. Mr. Mishkin also counsels clients on compliance with federal and state civil rights laws, personnel manuals, performance evaluations, alternative dispute resolution, and hiring and firing policies and practices.

Mr. Mishkin is a frequent speaker at legal, trade association, and firm-sponsored seminars on employment issues, including The Investigations Seminar: Investigating Misconduct in A Diverse Workplace. He also regularly presents in-house training programs for clients.

In 1992, Mr. Mishkin served on President Clinton's transition team for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Prior to entering private practice in 1981, Mr. Mishkin served as a law clerk to Judge Peter H. Wolf of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
