Elyse Lubitz has more than 19 years of experience in a wide range of legal matters including toxic torts, environmental litigation, product liability, personal injury, negligence, health care and insurance compliance, labor and employment, medical malpractice, and criminal matters. She has significant knowledge and capabilities in mass tort litigations and class actions involving alleged environmental and occupational exposures.
Ms. Lubitz works with attorneys, clients, and experts during all phases of litigation. She assists attorneys in formulating litigation strategies based on medical and scientific issues in preparation for depositions, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement proceedings. Ms. Lubitz proposes theories of alternate causation based on scientific documentation and research and analysis of the medical literature. She is an active participant in the identification, selection, and retention process for experts and consultants.
In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Lubitz reviews, interprets, summarizes, and evaluates medical records and related discovery, while she also prepares written summaries, chronologies, and other documents to assist attorneys and clients in understanding complex medical and scientific issues. She conducts extensive research in scientific and medical databases, texts, and other references to locate case-specific scientific studies, treatises, and medical data. The research data is then reviewed, analyzed, and presented to attorneys and clients in an appropriate format.
From 1997 to 2006, Ms. Lubitz was the sole Medical Analyst for a leading global law firm. Previously, she was associated with a major New Jersey law firm for 10 years.
Before entering the legal field, Ms. Lubitz was a Registered Professional Nurse in the Emergency Department of a northern New Jersey hospital, in positions including Head Nurse. She has served as an Adjunct Instructor in the Legal Nurse Consultant Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
