Joel Bannister advises financial institutions and investors in connection with acquisition financings, asset-based financings, mezzanine financings, project financings, securitizations, equity investments and restructurings. His experience includes regularly representing finance providers in Islamic Shariah compliant financings and restructurings.

Mr. Bannister counsels developers and capital providers at all stages of project development and finance in the wind and solar energy industries. His renewable energy experience includes drafting and negotiating land lease agreements, solar panel and wind turbine procurement agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements and various financing agreements. Mr. Bannister also has first-hand wind energy development experience through his development with a joint venture partner of a 50 megawatt late stage wind farm. 

Before attending law school, Mr. Bannister advised U.S. Senator Jerry Moran during the 107th Congress, regarding telecommunications, trade and transportation issues.
