Julie Crain focuses her practice on general commercial civil litigation with an emphasis on antitrust issues.
Ms. Crain has represented clients in litigation and pre-litigation counseling matters in many fields, including antitrust, banking, telecommunications, toxic tort, health care, and employment. She has successfully argued preliminary and dispositive motions and engaged in numerous aspects of litigation before state and federal trial and appellate courts and administrative agencies, as well as in alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Crain has also counseled and litigated on behalf of clients in the area of deceptive advertising and unfair competition before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other administrative agencies.
In addition, Ms. Crain’s practice involves counseling individuals and companies daily on antitrust matters concerning licensing, distribution and pricing, joint ventures (along with mergers and acquisitions), and civil and criminal investigations before the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as litigation pertaining to such matters. Ms. Crain also advises clients on Hart-Scott-Rodino compliance matters and on issues relating to participation in trade associations, standards setting, and information exchange activities. She has advised numerous clients operating outside the United States on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues and federal anti-boycott legislation reporting requirements, as well.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Crain was an associate at two prominent Washington DC law firms where she concentrated on a wide range of commercial litigation issues, including toxic tort litigation, accounting fraud, and antitrust law.
