Jamie Gardner concentrates her practice in litigation, representing clients in civil and criminal cases at trial and appellate levels in a variety of jurisdictions throughout the country. She also represents a major international labor union in internal investigations and prosecutions under the union’s constitution. She has special experience in cases involving legal ethics and professional responsibility.
Before joining Patton Boggs, Ms. Gardner was of counsel to the law firm of Comey Boyd & Luskin, where she represented clients in complex civil and criminal cases. She has also represented witnesses and targets in state and federal grand jury and Independent Counsel investigations.
Ms. Gardner has extensive litigation experience having served as the chief of the trial division of the District of Columbia Public Defender Service and as a trial and appellate attorney in that office for 12 years. Before entering private practice, she taught in the Criminal Justice Institute at Harvard Law School and was a visiting professor at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Ms. Gardner teaches legal ethics, evidence, trial advocacy, criminal law and procedure to lawyers and law students throughout the country.
