Joe Passaic advises clients on a wide range of corporate, securities and bank regulatory issues. He has extensive experience spearheading major transactions in all areas of business dealings and in capital markets involving IPOs, private placements, corporate restructurings and mergers and acquisitions with emphasis in the banking industry.
Mr. Passaic counsels financial intermediaries including financial institutions and specialty finance, insurance, investment banking, and real estate companies before federal and state regulatory agencies. Mr. Passaic advises clients on a wide range of bank regulatory matters and advises banks and investors on the acquisition of financial institutions, particularly with regards to transactions in the recent U.S. banking crisis.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Passaic was a partner at a Washington, DC law firm specializing in financial services. Prior to entering private practice, he served as senior attorney in the Office of the General Counsel for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Mr. Passaic has lectured at various financial institutions seminars, served on the editorial board of the Banking Law Report and co-authored a banking treatise entitled Banking Law in the United States. Mr. Passaic has also taught business and commercial law as adjunct professor at the Georgetown University School of Business.
