Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) John R. Sharp advises clients on a wide spectrum of administrative and regulatory law issues. His experience encompasses extensive work in the energy sector, including domestic and international oil and gas, nuclear energy, alternative and renewable energy projects and federal grants and loan guarantees for energy projects. John has represented clients in matters before the Minerals Management Service, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement and the Interior Board of Land Appeals, as well as other federal agencies including the Surface Transportation Board, the National Park Service, and numerous agencies within the Department of Defense.
Lt. Col. Sharp also specializes in federal procurement law, with a special focus on SBA programs, Veterans Administration issues and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience on procurement, defense and national security-related issues to the table for his clients, having served in the U.S. Army for nearly 22 years in a variety of assignments worldwide before joining the firm.
A Russian linguist, Lt. Col. Sharp served for many years as a Soviet-East European (Eurasian) Foreign Area Officer, developing special proficiency concerning the Trans-Caucasian and Central Asian regions.
