John Zefutie advises clients in a wide range of legal matters, with concentrations in consumer fraud class actions, toxic tort litigation, financial services litigation, product liability litigation, complex commercial litigation and CERCLA cost recovery actions. He provides litigation advice to financial institutions, large municipal entities, medical device manufacturers, toy manufacturers, publicly traded companies, closed corporations and private individuals. Mr. Zefutie frequently appears in state and federal court, and he has substantial experience in arbitration proceedings. He has had primary responsibility for all facets of litigation, from pleading through discovery, motion practice and trial preparation. In addition, Mr. Zefutie has handled several appellate matters.

Mr. Zefutie also serves by appointment of the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a member of the District V-A Ethics Committee, where he investigates and, when necessary, prosecutes grievances filed against attorneys who are alleged to have violated the New Jersey Rules of Professional Conduct.

Before joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Zefutie was an associate at a top-15 international law firm. In law school, he was an editor for the Seton Hall Law Review and a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board. Mr. Zefutie was the winner of the Eugene Gressman Moot Court Competition, a Regional Finalist in the National Moot Court Competition and a recipient of the Seton Hall Oral Advocacy Award.
