Lacy Kolo represents U.S. and international clients through every stage of intellectual property (IP) development and management, including patent prosecution, due diligence, patent litigation, licensing, and technology transfer.

In particular, Dr. Kolo works with clients to develop and manage their IP, including identifying potentially valuable IP, developing individual patent applications both in the U.S. and abroad, and managing the resulting IP portfolio. She also assists clients in leveraging their intellectual property for business purposes, including licensing, validity, and infringement opinions; enforcement; and mergers and acquisitions. Dr. Kolo’s litigation experience includes assisting clients through all phases of IP litigation.

Dr. Kolo has research experience in pharmacology and pharmaceutical chemistry, molecular biology, physiology, and biochemisty. Prior to coming to Patton Boggs, Lacy was employed as a patent agent with a university technology transfer office, where she prosecuted domestic and foreign patent applications and conducted patentability analyses.

Her research background includes experience in assay development, neuroscience, and animal models. In addition to her biomedical expertise, Lacy has experience with computationally intelligent software systems, as well as packet routing systems for IT networks. She has received awards from the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and the Institute de Recherches Internationales Servier.
