Lesley Bowling Sachs defends clients against government investigations and litigation involving allegations of fraud and abuse. Ms. Sachs represents clients in the health care industry, including pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, hospitals and health care providers, durable medical equipment companies and clinical laboratories. Ms. Sachs has experience representing pharmaceutical manufacturers in consumer protection actions brought by state Attorneys General. Ms. Sachs also represents clients on a broad range of pre-litigation and litigation matters, including preserving and producing electronically stored information in litigation. In addition to litigation services, Ms. Sachs advises clients with internal investigations, corporate compliance and investor due diligence reviews.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Sachs was a senior consultant in the federal government practice of IBM Business Consulting Services. As a consultant, Ms. Sachs advised federal clients on a wide range of finance, budgeting and operational improvement matters. While attending law school, Ms. Sachs interned with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and clerked with the Office of the Commissioner.

  • In re: Kansas Medicaid Pharmaceutical Average Wholesale Price Litigation – Defending a pharmaceutical manufacturer against allegations of deceptive and fraudulent drug pricing brought by the Kansas Attorney General.
  • In re: Louisiana Medicaid Pharmaceutical Average Wholesale Price Litigation – Defending a pharmaceutical manufacturer against case brought by Louisiana Attorney General alleging false and deceptive practices and violations of the Louisiana Consumer Protection Act and state Medicaid statutes.
  • Industrial Enterprises, Inc. v. Penn America Ins. Co. –  Successfully represented client in the recovery of attorneys’ fees and costs against insurance company.
  • Malone v. Wayne Art Center – Won dismissal of tort case filed against Wayne Art Center brought by an artist alleging negligent destruction of artist’s work while it was on display at the Wayne Art Center museum gallery.
