Monita Barghachieh has extensive knowledge of Qatar law, culture and its investment environment. Her practice is diverse with a concentration in the different aspects of corporate and finance matters, contract drafting and dispute resolution. Ms. Barghachieh’s familiarization with  regional laws enables her to advise clients on all aspects of Qatar law and the legal implications in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Her outstanding Arabic language skills are a strength in her practice, and she is also fluent in English and French.

Before joining Patton Boggs, Monita Barghachieh worked for a  top Qatari law firm known for its excellent practice in the dispute resolution, corporate and intellectual property fields. In addition, she practiced in the civil, commercial and criminal law sectors at a prominent law firm in Lebanon.

Representative Matters
  • Worked on the establishment of numerous companies in Qatar, including limited liability companies, one-person companies, private institutions for public benefit, article (68) companies, shareholding companies, foreign companies’ branches, representative trade offices and engineering consultancies offices; and participated in successful M&A and shares purchase transactions.
  • Drafted and negotiated complex contracts relating to sale and purchase of assets, shares and businesses.
  • Worked on the set up and document drafting of Shariah-compliant investment funds.
  • Participated in several project financing transactions in the infrastructure and construction fields. 
  • Assumed a primary role in a multi-million dollar construction litigation drafting reviewing pleadings and court documents (ongoing).
