Matthew Dunn uses his unique congressional and agency experience to assist clients in navigating the changing regulatory landscape occurring in the financial markets. Mr. Dunn’s comprehensive background in the regulation of commodity and derivative markets helps clients adapt to evolving regulatory requirements. He has assisted in representing a wide range of industry entities, including swap execution facilities, investment firms, traders, finance data service providers, sovereign wealth funds and energy utilities.
Before joining the Firm, Mr. Dunn was legislative counsel for the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee. During his tenure with the Senate, Mr. Dunn worked on Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and is intimately familiar with the sweeping market reforms which occurred as a result of its passage. In addition, he contributed to the Committee’s oversight of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Prior to working on the Hill, Mr. Dunn was as an attorney-advisor at the CFTC, where he assisted with numerous reparation and enforcement matters.
