Matthew Durfee counsels clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal court. He has experience representing clients in disputes involving mortgage banking, real estate, construction, oil and gas, labor and employment, securities, government investigations, personal injury and contracts.
Mr. Durfee also devotes significant time to pro bono clients, including low-income individuals seeking legal assistance through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program on matters involving family, consumer and property law.
Representative Matters
- Represented a lender seeking foreclosure on a property with a loan having an outstanding balance of over $7 million and in which multiple defendants filed lender liability counterclaims. Aggressive strategy resulted in lender being granted summary judgment and the court entering final judgment for lender on all claims within approximately 9 months from the filing of the action.
- Represented a commercial landlord in a forcible detainer action resulting in an Agreed Final Judgment of eviction.
- Represented a commercial borrower in defense of claims for breach of a loan agreement and guaranty resulting in a confidential settlement.
