Michael Tristan advises clients in a variety of complex disputes in both state and federal courts. He has represented clients in a broad range of matters involving securities, real estate and construction, intellectual property, oil and gas, unfair competition, personal injury and lender liability claims.
Representative Matters:
- Obtained defense jury verdict on behalf of a Texas county in inverse condemnation action concerning a bridge collapse.
- Obtained favorable award in international arbitration proceeding concerning claims of fraud, misrepresentation and breach of contract in dispute between joint operators of an oil and gas concession in the Middle East.
- Obtained permanent injunction and favorable agreed judgment in case involving theft of trade secrets and tortious interference with business relations.
- Obtained dismissal of claims brought in bankruptcy adversary proceeding concerning an attempt to recharacterize the sale of securitized overriding royalty interests to bring them within a debtor’s estate.
- Obtained injunction and recovery of pledged assets in breach of contract action on behalf of East Texas energy company.
- Obtained an order designating client as primary joint managing conservator in bench trial of a pro-bono child custody dispute referred by Legal Aid of Northwest Texas.
