INVITE YOU TO ATTEND A BRIEFING ON NEPA with

Hon. Representative Cathy McMorris
(R. 5th C.D. WA) and
Chair of the Task Force on Improving the
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris represents Washington's Fifth Congressional District and serves on the House Resources Committee, the Armed Services Committee, and the Education and Workforce Committee. She is currently serving as the Freshman Class representative on the Steering Committee and is a member of the Majority Leader's Whip Team. In April, Resources Committee Chairman Richard Pombo appointed Congresswoman McMorris to undertake the first serious effort to analyze the implementation of NEPA in 35 years.

Congresswoman McMorris will discuss:

  • What the Task Force has learned in its efforts to identify strengths and weaknesses in the current NEPA regime.
  • How NEPA can be improved.
  • Anticipated legislative efforts to amend the statute.

Join us to learn how changes to the 35-year-old statute can streamline NEPA procedures and focus resources on environmental protection rather than litigation and paperwork.
