Thomas Keane is the Senior Director of Strategic Business Initiatives for Patton Boggs LLP. Mr. Keane leads business development for the firm in ten offices around the world. Mr. Keane also advises corporations and governments around the world on problems related to operational, financial, strategic and hazard risks (including political risks). In addition, Mr. Keane frequently advises property and casualty insurance underwriters in asset recovery.
Prior to joining Patton Boggs in 2009, Mr. Keane spent 19 years in the insurance industry where he held leadership positions at two of the industry’s leading companies: Marsh Inc. and American International Group (AIG).
At Marsh, Mr. Keane created and led the firm’s Global Risk Advisory Panel which consulted leading organizations on emerging risk issues, including political and country risks. The panel included former United States Secretary of State Madeline Albright, the (late) Hon. Jack Kemp, former SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt and others.
At AIG, Mr. Keane served as a Vice President of Marketing. He played a significant role in the design, implementation and marketing of risk finance offerings, including structured insurance, environmental and un-conventional life programs.
He has spoken at risk management events around the world, including a 2007 United Nations Leadership Forum convened by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
