Thomas M. Keane, a non-lawyer, is a Senior Advisor in Squire Patton Boggs’ Washington, DC office.
As a risk management advisor and insurance executive for over 20 years, Mr. Keane has tremendous experience advising global insurers, financial institutions, other leading corporations, and governments. He provides strategic advice to Fortune 500 corporations and other multinational enterprises helping them gain access to foreign governments, navigate ministries and agencies, and influence policy and legislation. His clients and professional experience extend throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East and South America.
Prior to joining Patton Boggs in 2009, he held leadership positions at two of the insurance industry’s leading companies: Marsh Inc. and AIG.
At Marsh, Mr. Keane created and led the firm’s Global Risk Advisory Panel. The panel consulted organizations on a variety of key risk issues, including political and country risks. The panel included former United States Secretary of State Madeline Albright, the (late) Hon. Jack Kemp, former SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt and others.
At AIG, Mr. Keane served as a Vice President of Marketing. He played a significant role in the design, implementation and marketing of risk finance offerings, including structured insurance, and environmental programs.
He has spoken at risk management events around the world, including a United Nations Leadership Forum convened by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
