As Director of Client Initiatives in the Dallas office of Patton Boggs, Ronna Cross executes the firm’s strategic initiatives domestically and internationally across a wide range of practice areas.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Cross practiced law for eight years, spending one year in Raleigh, North Carolina, then seven years practicing in Boston, Massachusetts. In Raleigh, Ms. Cross represented and advised boards of education and school superintendents on education, employment and constitutional issues, and she was involved in all aspects of civil litigation.
In Boston, Ms. Cross was a business litigator and represented clients in commercial, employment and securities litigation, including trials and arbitrations. Her focus then shifted to intellectual property (IP). The core of her IP practice involved managing corporate trademark portfolios around the world, including counseling clients in branding and the development of national and global IP positions covering issues of creation, exploitation, infringement, validity and enforceability.
Ms. Cross has presented at seminars on trademark, branding and current IP issues, and also managed the Trademark Practice Group at Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, P.C. in Boston. During law school, Ms. Cross received the Certificate of Merit Award, Commercial Transactions, from the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Law and the American Jurisprudence Award, Legal Research & Writing, from OCU Law.
