Stephanie Feingold has extensive experience in environmental litigation, environmental and land use regulatory counseling and administrative dispute resolution. She has counseled major corporations in connection with enforcement actions by environmental agencies and governmental authorities and has also represented major corporations, insurers and reinsurers in litigation, mediation and arbitration.
Ms. Feingold has served as coordinating counsel in multi-party litigations and has significant experience with common interest issues and joint defense agreements. She also has experience handling environmental aspects of real estate transactions and financings, including preparation of representations and warranties and environmental covenants, as well as communicating with environmental consultants and governmental authorities. Ms. Feingold is a 2000 graduate of Columbia Law School, where she was an Articles Editor on the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law.
Representative Matters:
Litigation
- Represent automobile manufacturer in CERCLA and Spill Act cost recovery and contribution action initiated in District of New Jersey for costs associated with multi-site removal and remediation of contaminated concrete.
- Defense of chemical manufacturing company in cost recovery/natural resource damages suit brought by NJDEP in New Jersey State Court.
Enforcement and Administrative Proceedings
- Represent automobile manufacturer in civil and criminal proceedings associated with the decommissioning and demolition of automotive assembly plant in New Jersey, where the State alleged the company violated numerous provisions of the NJ Solid Waste and Spill Acts at multiple sites. Negotiated administrative consent order with NJDEP settling company’s liability to State.
- Represented major manufacturing company in connection with its entry into an administrative consent order with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to address an urban waterway contaminated with TCE, as well as Spill Fund and natural resource damages claims.
- Represent chemical company in municipal hearings concerning a manufacturing plant in New Jersey, where a municipality is seeking to designate the plant as part of an area in need of redevelopment.
