Sean Murphy advises business entities, lenders, borrowers and investors on real estate transactions. He actively represents clients engaged in project, mezzanine and mortgage financing; acquisitions; dispositions; leasing; and commercial real estate finance and development. Experienced in negotiating and drafting contracts, term sheets, loan documents and other commercial and transactional legal documents, Mr. Murphy also represents various funds, investors and issuers of securities in the commercial real estate industry. He also represents research and technology parks in various legal and financial matters.
In addition to his work at Patton Boggs, Mr. Murphy is a partner in Chain Bridge Capital LLC, a private real estate investment firm specializing in health care-related assets. Previously, Mr. Murphy was executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Medical Office Properties, Inc., a private real estate investment trust (REIT) in Chevy Chase, Maryland that invested in medical office buildings and other healthcare facilities throughout the United States until its sale for approximately $300 million in 2004. Mr. Murphy also previously served as a federal trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice.
