Thomas Keane is the Director of Strategic Business Initiatives for the firm. In this capacity, Keane builds inter-disciplinary teams of lawyers and leading experts who provide innovative legal services to public and private institutions operating in critical sectors of the global economy, where government, law and business intersect.
Mr. Keane brings a unique mix of experience and credibility in the corporate insurance and risk management sectors. He has deep expertise in the area of risk finance including structured settlements, asset recovery and other complex risk optimization strategies.
Mr. Keane joined the firm after serving as a Managing Director at Marsh, the leading insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm. At Marsh, he created and led the firm’s Global Risk Advisory Panel which consulted leading organizations around the world on emerging risk issues. The Risk Advisory Panel included dignitaries such as former United States Secretary of State Madeline Albright, the Hon. Jack Kemp, the Hon. William Gray, former SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt and others.
Previously, Keane was a Vice President at AIG’s international underwriting affiliate, American International Underwriters (AIU). At AIU, Keane led the unit’s global marketing efforts. Keane also played a key role in the development of strategic initiatives at AIG, including the company’s joint venture with NASDAQ.
Over the years, he has spoken at risk management events around the world, including a 2007 United Nations Leadership Forum convened by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
