Travis Seegmiller advises a diverse array of domestic and international clients facing legal, business and public policy strategy concerns in the areas of financial products and services, private capital and investment, tax, energy, trade and investor risk assessment.

A former management strategy consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Financial Institutions Group, Mr. Seegmiller brings more than a dozen years of highest-level strategy expertise to Patton Boggs’ Public Policy and Business Practice Groups.

From both Wall Street and K Street, Mr. Seegmiller has led and counseled client teams at Fortune 100 companies, Alpha Hedge Fund 100 firms, global family-owned businesses, leading investment banks, domestic and international governmental bodies and numerous nonprofit organizations to achieve or resolve their most pressing financial, legislative, regulatory and public policy priorities. Working closely with private-equity and venture capital firms, Mr. Seegmiller also advises a vibrant line-up of high-growth private entities.

Formerly a leader in Senator John Breaux’s bipartisan private-sector advocacy team, Mr. Seegmiller counseled and led day-to-day client services for industry associations and coalitions, especially in the energy and financial services sectors.

Mr. Seegmiller has worked on or advised numerous political campaigns at the local, state and national levels, including U.S. presidential campaigns dating back to 1996. His most recent full-time campaign efforts were in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Michigan and Florida.

Another key component of Mr. Seegmiller’s client representation involves advocating his clients’ interests before governmental entities in Latin America and in diverse media venues throughout Latin America, including radio and television. Representative engagements include client work in Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. Mr. Seegmiller’s other prior professional experience includes employment with a leading Boston-based private investment firm, the international tax practice of a top-tier global law firm and the NAFTA practice group at a preeminent Mexican law firm.

Previously Mr. Seegmiller served as executive editor of The Tax Lawyer, as a staffer to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and as president of his political party’s leadership groups at Yale and Georgetown. Mr. Seegmiller studied business at the Amos Tuck Graduate School of Business at Dartmouth, and economics at La Pontificia Universidad Catolica in Chile.
