Tim Vanderver has practiced energy and environmental law during and since his government service a number of years ago, with a focus on policy issues in the legislative and administrative arenas. While at Patton Boggs, Mr. Vanderver has represented a number of energy and energy-related companies such as oil and gas pipelines, nuclear power producers and independent power producers. In recent years, his energy practice has concentrated on alternative and renewable energy, including nuclear, solar, wind, biomass and waste-to-energy.
Mr. Vanderver’s extensive environmental experience includes counseling clients on federal and state environmental statutes utilizing his thorough understanding of the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. He has been directly involved in or responsible for representation at more than one hundred Superfund sites. Mr. Vanderver has participated in numerous environmentally-based legislative, administrative and litigation activities, and has handled the environmental aspects of a number of business and real estate transactions.
Mr. Vanderver also assists clients on a broad range of housing and housing finance matters, primarily involving the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He has represented a number of clients from municipalities to developers to mortgage bankers in a variety of real estate finance and development matters and in a number of enforcement actions brought by HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He also has extensive experience with the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.
